About to pull the trigger on a new gpdi ir, but just one thing I couldnt figure from the manual I downloaded…
Does the gpdi ir have a piece of software to load my own ir’s or does it just show up as an external drive once hooking up the USB? I couldn’t find any downloads on the fryette site.
I meant to ask but forgot - what the bit depth/ir length in ms compatibility? I normally use the 32 bit / 500ms ownhammer in my Friedman IR-D. Will the gpdi ir accept those / truncate-convert or do I need to download a certain bit depth/time before loading.
To be safe, I will download the ir’s to that spec.
Would be cool to know if it’s safe to use whatever bit depth/sample rate/length and it just deals with it. I would just try it, but I am hesitant to mess up the content of the file structure.
Unfortunately not, the maximum is 48kHz, 24-bit which to be fair is fine. The length is limited to a little bit more than 20ms. I only use the above file types. Let me know if you need a recommendation for a conversion tool.
I can redownload my ir’s from ownhammer in 48k/24 bit, that’s no problem. Ownhammer doesn’t have ir’s as short as 20ms,I assume like most other ir loaders, as long as the bit depth and sample rate matches, it’ll just truncate the ir length…correct assumption?
