IR Clip Indicator Lighting at Low Volume

The IR indicator is lighting up when I have the master volume past 9 oclock. I’m overall at a low volume and am not sure why it would be clipping. Here is a pic of my settings:

Hey Scotty,

The clip indicator lights just before the onset of actual distortion. That means you are getting close to the point of distortion, but not enough to cause audible dostortion…yet.

Given your gain settings, it is not unusual for you to be close to the IR clipping level.

Remember, the GPDI IS a complete tube amplifier. So, like any high gain tube amp with a master volume, the 9:00-10:00 setting is going to get pretty close to maximum clean power output.

Conversely, running in LESS mode with lower gain settings will result in being able to turn the MV up much higher before the clip indicator begins to blink.

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks for the clarification. I was concerned because I wasn’t sure if the light should be blinking so soon. I’ll be sure to adjust levels on my interface/DAW.
