I ve just purchased LXII to use in conjuction with Synergy Syn 2 and Axe Fx3 . From the LXII manual;
“Maintain unobstructed air space behind and above the unit to allow for proper ventilation and cooling.”
Considering nature of rack rigs, is it unsafe to mount any other rack on top of LXII, (or mounting at the very top) possibly blocking ventilation above the unit? Or should I get a larger rack case and leave 1 U empty space above LXII? This is going to be my first rack system so I got little confused. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum!
This simply means, try not to block the air vents on the top and sides of the unit.
The LXII is around 12-1/2” deep. The Syn 2 can be mounted above the LXII without obstructing the top vents.

Thanks for the response David. I was actually searching for a similar topic on the forum and came across Terry from Fryette also posted on May 2021 quoting;
“I have always left a space between amplifiers and other units for more than just ventilation. In the past, we used to have “effects racks” and “amp racks”. This became extremely costly over time and the racks would be combined into one rack. To cure some rack issues, the space becomes important. I’ll go into what those are if anyone ever encounters it, but for now, it sounds like your just worried about airflow/ventilation. I would stick to leaving a space between the unit. Not because it absolutely needs it, but because its always best practice. I hope this answers your question.”
I dont mean any controversy or whatsoever. Just asking for your response for safer operation.
Oh never mind now that I put the units on top of each other I got what you mean. Vents dont get blocked. Thanks for the response again. Have a great day.
