High power mode and low fan speed

Are there any situations where I can get away with having the 2/90/2 high power mode on and fan speed set to low? For example, playing at home and not pushing the power amp at all? Or at band practice in a cold room? Just trying to get an idea of if or when the high fan speed wouldn’t be needed.

Hi @MrPokeylope and welcome to the forum!

It all comes down to temperature of the unit, it’s kind of impossible to give general advice because it depends so much on enclosure airflow, room airflow, temperature, how long you are using it.

In high-power mode it’s 98W per channel and drawing something like 700W from the wall. So that 500W has to go somewhere and it’s all being blown out the back by the fan.

You could experiment (although it doesn’t state it explicitly) the manual implies that high-power mode needs fan at full speed.

Thank you Dan. It sounds like I’ll have to experiment. I’ll lean towards leaving the fan on high when in high power mode. I obviously don’t want to damage anything.
