I got a Master Lead 50 w/ 2x12 cab. Glorious tone, but a bit limited as a studio amp. Has anybody looked to see what adding an FX loop would take? Full disclosure: I don’t run effects through my FX loops. I use them as an entry point to the power section or as a preamp out. The ML50 has a cool line out from the speaker, but it seems like its all or nothing. Full disclosure 2: I have a Power Station. Love it. Use it on every session… Still would like access to the power section of the ML50. Edit: The Fryette Deliverance has an FX Loop Kit… but the current model has an FX loop. Let’s ask for the same treatment! Free the FX loops!
Is the Master Lead 50 suitable for the Deliverance FX Loop kit? I don’t use my Power Station with this amp anymore. The Fryette site says, “This [Deliverance FX loop] kit is also suitable for installation in any tube amplifier with a negative DC bias supply source.”
Is the ML50 such an amp?
Hi Christian,
I think the Sound City amps are biased in this way. Let’s wait for confirmation from Dave because, as well as compatibility, it needs a place to be mounted in that chassis, holes drilled, etc. It is a kit, but it should be professionally installed.
Yes, the Deliverance Loop Kit can be installed on the ML50..
There is ample room inside to mount it, but I have to check to see if it will crash into any of the existing rear panel labeling.

I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner. There is some text about grounding, no user serviceable parts, and a warning not to leave the amp in the rain. That could be printed on a sticker a moved elsewhere. I could even send it to you if you want to control the outcome, but I have a couple of reliable amp techs locally.
Hi Christian,
Working with a reputable local tech would be totally fine, they should be able to install this. It would be better to take the kit over to them with the amp and discuss in person the installation location and where the new holes need to be drilled.
