Groundnoise of fryette ps1

I recently purchased this Fryette PS1 from a second-hand platform. It was produced in 2015. The attenuation function works fine, but when I turn on the “operate” switch, as long as it’s connected to the cabinet, there is a constant background noise regardless of whether there is an amp signal or not. The switch at the back doesn’t help either. The noise is not too faint. You can listen to the video I recorded to determine if this is normal and if it can be improved.

I consulted some relevant people, and they said this background noise might be due to the unevenness of the power tubes. Thank you.https://youtube.com/shorts/IzTfKfxDmz8?si=VyY–0cdpMuy57iz

Hi, I have the same PowerStation as you, and when I put it in “operate” mode, I hear a noise very similar to yours, although less loud. It would be interesting to hear from someone from Fryette support to see if this is normal or not.

@Skywalker welcome to the forum

That’s quite an old PS-1 and it may need a service, especially if the history is a bit unknown.

Take a look here,

A local tech should be able to help you with that.

Noise in tube amps is normal. Of couse excessive noise needs maintaince to resolve.
