What would the routing be if I wanted to use the GPDI/IR into a PS-2a (to get some power amp breakup) while using the IR out on the GPDI and recording silently into an interface?
Hey @jaycal6 and welcome!
You don’t need to do this because the GPDI/IR already contains a power amp loaded with a reactive load. It’s already designed for what you want!
Got it, thanks! Saw your reply on youtube, too. Appreciate the quick info. I had seen some vids about using the PS-2 to provide some power amp goodness, and I thought maybe the 50 watts could provide more of that than the 1 watt in the GPDI. But this is great, I like simple!
That’s a good idea if you are using a preamp or modeller certainly.
Hi, can I connect direct to an interface to record ?
I will drop the answer from you other question here too.
The audio outputs are via the balanced and unbalanced ports on the back, so you would connect these to your audio interface. The USB-C port is for loading IRs into the IR loader. The unit does not appear as an audio USB device to your PC.
Also these videos are great,
Hi Dan,
Perhaps a silly question, but from Michael Nielsen’s video I seem to understand the the IR is placed after the amp and attenuator rather than after the preamp - i.e. the signal path is:
Input > Preamp > Effects loop > 1W amp > Attenuator > Analog/digital IRs > IR Out
Is this correct?
Cheers and thanks
