Hi everyone,
I recently received a GP/DI IR and started testing it.
I’m experiencing a few issues and wanted to check if this is normal behavior or a potential defect:
1. When the unit is completely cold, on startup it produces a loud crackling/noise through the speakers.
2. On Crunch and Pitbull modes, there is noticeable background noise when playing notes, almost like extra hiss behind the signal.
3. When I touch or move the mode selector knob, the unit produces additional noise/interference.
The unit is connected properly with a grounded setup, and I’ve tested with different cables to rule that out.
Also, I checked the tubes:
There are stickers indicating 12AX7 on V1, V2, and V3, and ECC832 on V4.
However, on the actual tubes themselves (not the stickers), the markings show ECC83 on the other tubes.
Not sure if this mismatch is expected or could be related to the issue.
I also have a video demonstrating these issues and can provide it if needed.
Is this expected behavior for this unit, or does this sound like a problem?
