Hi. First time poster and power station user. I was going to use the PS at an upcoming gig and use the second channel on the PS as a volume boost. When I plug and wire up everything and begin to play, there is a weird sizzle in the sound. This sound does not exist if I bypass the PS; it almost sounds like something is rattling and it’s being amplified. My set is guitar - soldano slo100 - PS - 2x12 cab. I’ve changed cables, cabinets, guitars, checked amp tubes. Everything checks out. Maybe the PS needs tubes? Maybe this is normal and I’m being paranoid? Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately I can’t upload a video. I keep getting an error message.
We don’t serve videos on the site, but you can drop in YouTube or Vimeo links and it will get embedded.
Yes, this could be tubes, but I would also debug this for a ground loop. Simplify the setup to an amp, PS-100 and cab, absolutely nothing else, no FX, just a guitar. If you get the same sounds then likely it’s the tube.
I can hear an output transformer sizzlin’ that is normal (it’s your amp or the PS-100), but those volume drops, are they intentional, or is that the issue? Please clarify.
