Hello, I am a Dick Dale tribute artist and get complaints all the time about my volume. I just bought the PS-100, and would like to hook my 1962 Fender Showman up to two 1x15 cabinets. Each cab is a 300 watt 4 Ohm speaker. I am using a Palmer Cab Merger, should I use the parallel option? Last night I tried it using series, and I only got sound out of one speaker. My concern is going in parallel, the speakers will drop down to 2 ohms. The PS-100 has a switch for 4/2 ohms, will this work for my setup? I’m a little hesitant because it doesn’t appear to be a dedicated 2 Ohm channel. Thank you for your help.
Welcome to the forum!
This seems like a question about the Palmer more than the PS-100 which means you might not be posting your question in the right place to get the best answer.
That said, as far as I can tell, there is zero reason that you getting sound out of one cab has anything to do with the PS-100. Once the signal leaves the PS-100 via the cab out jack, that’s it as far as the PS-100 is concerned.
I have never used the Palmer. But the concept is very simple. And there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use series mode. Check your cables. Check the Palmer. Have you used it successfully before? If it’s new, maybe you got a defective one?
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I just tested it parallel, and it works perfectly. My only concern is the 4/2 Ohm switch on the back of the Fryette. I wish it were a dedicated 2 Ohm channel. Hopefully my speakers will be OK with this thing cranked.
Cool - glad parallel works. It still doesn’t work in series? Might be a defective unit.
Unfortunately, the Fryette makes a really loud, high pitched oscillating noise when I turn my showman up to around 6. That is the sweet spot, and the reason I purchased this unit. I even removed the Palmer, and went amp > Fryette > 1x15 speaker. Anyone have any idea what this could be?
There is a ground loop button on the back of the PS-100, I pushed it and the high pitched squeal went away. As long as I run the Palmer on Parallel, I am getting sound out of both speakers. Hopefully, everything will work properly from here on out. This just takes a little getting used to. Appreciate all your help!
