Fluctuating volume

I thought I would start a new thread since the title of my previous thread may have been misleading.

When I have my amp plugged into the “amp in” and a cabinet connected to “Speaker out”, everything sounds great for about 5 mins, The volume then diminishes then gets louder then back down.

I don’t have anything else connected to the amp or PS-2.

I have only had the PS-2 for a year or so and never gigged it or put a lot of hours on it.

Is this a tube issue or something else?

It could be tube related depending on how drastic the level change is.

Try connecting a jumper instrument cable from the FX loop send to the return. That could help isolate the issue.

I tried the jumper cable…no improvement.

I put in brand new tubes, here is what it sounds like…more like a crackle.

This is amp into PS-2 and speaker cable out to 4x12.

I live in Camarillo, is it possible to drop it off at your shop to assess?

Hello Guys I Am experiencing the same issue with my PS-2A. ( volume drops after 5- 10 min and FX loop gives me a drastic drop in volume as well ) . The issue here is that I am from Canada ( Montreal ) and I do not know if there is a service point close by that you guys work with. Or will I Have to send it out to US for Repairs

I’m also experience the exact symptoms as others in this thread.

I purchased a PS-2 from a someone two years ago and this issue first came up shortly after I acquired it. I took it to my local amp tech and he couldn’t find a problem with it. He re-seated the tubes and the problem went away.

I haven’t played this PS-2 in two years and the problem came back when I turned it on this week. I’m in Seattle, is there someone local you recommend or should I send it back for repairs?
