I’m planning a dual stereo stage setup for some gigs I’m doing both pedal steel and six string.
I sometimes run stereo on gigs I only play six string. With two ps-2a’s. Using one of them only as a power amp, and the other as attenuator+power amp.
I use the fx loop, so that I can have stereo effects after the attenuated amp.
For pedal steel I actually don’t need an attenuator, since I don’t need that much breakup from the amp. At the same time, my steel amp of choice is an old super reverb converted into a head.
So to buy another super reverb would be both heavy and expensive. And introduce some ohm-issues as the cabinet contains 2x 8ohm speakers.
Would a stereo power amp be the way to go? Left channel for one side of the six string rig, and right channel for one side of the pedal steel rig. And using one ps2 for steel and one for six string?
Any thoughts?
