Drastic volume drop after playing for 5-ish min

Hello,

After playing through my PS2 for about 5min, I suddenly get a drastic volume volume drop, and it becomes very quiet. Sometimes it stays at that volume, sometimes the volume will occasionally jump back up for just a second.

I’ve tried cleaning the volume pot with contact cleaner, and swapping the pre and power tubes. Still, same issue.

Thoughts?

It’s not exactly the same problem, but we have a no sound checklist here that would be useful to follow, Power Station: Troubleshooting Guide

Try doing that step by step.

Also remove anything in the FX loop. I suspect cables. Also trying moving both impedance selectors to see if its a bad switch connection there.
