I’m looking for guidance on a no-sound issue with a Fryette Deliverance II+ 60 that I just received (used purchase, arrived ~2 days ago, total tube time < 20 hours).
Symptom: While playing, the output gradually got quieter over a short period and then went completely silent. It has remained silent since.
Current state:
Front panel/pilot light is ON.
Tube heaters appear to be lit.
DC fuse is blown.
Main fuse tests good.
I’ve ruled out external gear: tried different guitars/cables, no pedals/other devices in the chain.
When the DC fuse is blown, it is very likely one of the two (or both) power tubes blew. If yor’re not familiar with working on tube amps (lethal voltages inside!!!), you should bring the amp to an experienced tech, get a new pair of tubes and a suitable fuse. The tech should know what to do.
I replaced the fuse and it works well (Jan 22). While today it has no sound again, then i replace the fuse (blown) again, works again.
Does it mean that the circuit has some problem?
if the amp has blown dc fuses multiple times, the tubes are suspect. I honestly would not be trying to evaluate the amp’s behavior until the tubes are replaced with good ones.
