Clipping IR at low amp volumes

Hello, I am the new owner of a used PL IR. Unfortunately I am running into a problem with clipping the IR at almost any volume.

I am running a 70s Traynor Bassmaster Mk II, which should be running at around 80 watts max and nowhere near the 200 watt limit. When running the volume around 10 o’clock, the clipping light is always on, and even at low clean volumes under 8 o’clock the clipping light activates on the transients.

Any help would be appreciated, not sure if I bought a dud or am missing something obvious.

Thanks for your time!

Hi @Rat and welcome to the forum!

Try toggling the back panel AUX LEVEL button. It also controls the input sensitivity when only using an AMP IN.

Might also want to toggle ground lift incase it’s something odd like that too.

Wow, thank you so much for the quick response, I knew I was missing something obvious! I’ll give it a go tonight, but I’m pretty sure this was the missing piece of the puzzle.

Appreciate the help, the fryette team is the best. Can’t wait to get my hands on a deliverance 2+ someday!
