Best product to achieve attenuation w/ fxloop

I am new to this as I’ve never had an amp without a power source and have always ran just a basic attenuator to achieve lower volumes. I’ve now switched up and went to a Princeton which has taken away my fx loop. So I’m wanting to run certain effects back thru the loop, also looking to have better control of the sound/attenuation. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Tubz,

A Power Station would be the way to go. You’d get the loop back and be able to control your output. The PS-2A would be a great choice. It will absolutely over power the Princeton if you aren’t careful with it though. As long as your mindful of your level, you’ll be just fine. It also makes the Princeton more than gig-able with the right speaker cabinet.

Thank You,

Terry

I know there’s a small price difference just on a quick note which one would be your choice. Im running a 2x12 mojotone lite cab with 2 creambacks. Eventually switching to a Zilla 2x12 vert vintage 30 greenback and a/b. The cabs through a home studio device. Trying to build up and want to be prepared for long term.

Hi Tubz,

So I personally am not a vertical cabinet kinda guy. I’ve never really seen the point and like the extra coupling you get from having the longest part of a cab be against the ground. To me, that is where the difference really happens. Of course, to most microphones, there is little to no difference. It’s just what I want to hear.

I don’t mind the creambacks, I’m not partial to greenbacks, and I really liked Lynchbacks during a time as well. It really depends on what I’m doing though. That’s a really hard question.

Thank You,

Terry

I just like options and opinions about what people like. I guess I’m just building as clean a base as possible. But as far as the fryers ps2 bs the 100 what’s my overall again over the other for my application. Prob a thread on her already

Found this for anyone following. This helped answer some of my questions. And looks like I’ll be looking for a PS100! That foot switchabl capability and being able to run two heads and control them is really a neat option! Thanks fryette team!

Hi Tubz,

Absolutely, the PS-100 is amazing. 100 watts, footswitchable controls. You lost me on two heads though. With the Cyclops you could run a head and a preamp through the PS-100, but two heads would require a ZMACS and the PS-100. Just making sure I read that correctly.

Thanks,

Terry
