Amp not playing only the power station, My amp is silent but the power station is on. No controls on the amp are functioning. Im shy about trying to long because its a nice amp and I dont want to damage it
Hi Boy,
Welcome to the forum!
Can you tell us a little more about your set up? Have you had a chance to look through the Power Station troubleshooting section of the FAQ? Let’s go step by step and start with this:
Thank You,
Terry
Thanks Terry, The Power Station plays , no sound from the amp. The amp is new, It is hooked up right. No amp sound. It’s that simple, Im worried about no load to the amp head. I dont want to hurt the amp. New Power Station, New Amp. Amplified Nation amp. [Amp Speaker Out] → [Fryette Amp In]
[Fryette Speaker Out / Thru] → [Speaker Cab]
Both items power on, When the power station is hooked, the amp is silent but the Power station plays, no amp volume or tone controls have any effect
Hi Boy,
When the Power Station is in bypass, there’s still no sound? Can you take a short video of the set up and what’s going on?
Thank You,
Terry
Yeah, it wasn’t on bypass . It was on operate. I’ve owned one in the past and never had a problem. The amp is a $4000, amp and I don’t want to damage it with no speaker load. The Power station plays by it’s self through the cabinet, just zero amp sound. I’ll try to take a video or a photo at the very least. Thanks for your help appreciated.

Hi Boy,
So the minute you plug the amp into the “amp in” of the Power Station, it’s protected. Your amp is seeing the reactive load of the Power Station. The Power Station will not come out of bypass if it’s not connected to a speaker cable. If everything is connected properly, you should hear your amplifier’s tone coming from the Power Station. Maybe I’m not understanding what you’re getting. Is there sound coming from the Power Station when you play?
Thanks,
Terry
Im only hearing The Power Station through the speaker cabinet. The amp is not in play, Im only hearing the Power Station, No amp I turn the amp knobs, no effect
, “You should hear your amplifier’s tone coming from the Power Station.”
Hi Boy,
So you’re hearing the guitar through the Power Station? No amp tone. Correct?
Thank You,
Terry
That is correct

Hi Boy,
I’m really going to need your signal flow. You shouldn’t be hearing the guitar through the Power Station with no amplifier tones. That would mean there is an issue in the amplifier and it’s passing sound from the input bypassing the preamp circuit and outputting the sound you’re hearing through the power section. Your direct guitar sound can’t be present through the Power Station. I either need to see the set up, or you need to tell me the signal flow from the guitar to the cabinet.
Thank You,
Terry
