Amp Modeler -> Ps100 -> Scarlett interface

Huge fan of my ps-100 as my live gear. Long time window shopper, first time buyer. Brilliant piece of gear

But I’m also stupid

So if I use my tonex pedal directly into my PS100 line in (or FX return), I should hear a signal from the line out (going to my Scarlett 18i20), correct?

I have no cab plugged in, and no amp head plugged in to the amp in - as I usually do.

Go easy on me man, I’m totally new to both modelers and attenuators. Thanks for all you guys do.

the line in does not feed into the line out. the line out is before the line in in the signal flow. so you would not get the preamp signal in the line out.

I suppose you could use the preamp into the line in jack and then use the fx send as the “thru” version of the preamp signal. I would want fryette support to confirm that.

though, if you’re not using an amp nor a cab, why plug into the ps100 at all? why not plug the preamp directly into your interface?

Thanks @choalla that’s a great answer. Maybe self-attenuation mode is the missing piece of the puzzle here? That would add a tube power stage to the ToneX and activate the Line Out.

@BurningBlood, check out Joe’s video on how to use PS-100 with a modeller in “self-attenuation” mode
