4cm only with the fx loop

Hey, can i use only the fx loop of the ps100 in a 4cm? Or the amp needs to be connected to it?

My setup
Suhr SL68
Fractal VP4
Fryette PS100
And it all goes into the Furman AC210

Hello, Yes, the FX loop on the PS-100 is designed to do exactly that. It should be the loop that you put your time based effects into i.e. delay, reverb and or some modulation effects. This way your amp’s preamp will be the signal that feeds those effects before being attenuated or amplified by the PS-100’s internal power amplifier. Cheers! Gil

Ok, so this sound happens when i’m plugged in 4cm, do you know what the problem is?
Because when i’m using the ps100 with everything connected stright in front of the amp with the vp4 it’s working fine and if i’m plugged just to the fx loop of the ps100 it’s also working, but in 4cm that happens. Do you got an idea why?

Hi Alberto,

This is almost certainly a ground loop issue. Take a look at these videos.

The second video is most appropriate.

You will need to unplug everything and start again. Pay close attention to how the power cables are connected.

Thanks so much, all i did is remove the power supply of the vp4 into a different socket and everything working:sign_of_the_horns:t2::heart_on_fire:

 what a surprise… ground loop

Not so fast😪 Update, when i’m on low volume it’s ok but when i’m turning up the volume on the amp it happens again, and i don’t get it if everything goes through the furman ac210 it dosen’t need to solve the ground loop? Or i’m missing something? And the lift on the ps100 also on

:grimacing: no cigar yet.

The same sound returns?

Ok maybe post a YouTube video and literally walk us around the setup including the wall socket and everything.

Ground loops are notorious for being tricky to solve

Yeah that same sound. And sure i’ll do it and post it. Thanks
