I want to connect my PS2a to my combo amp speaker using a 1/4 inch female to female adapter as shown in example 2 in the manual. Does it matter what adapter I use? Does it need to be mono or stereo? Can I do damage if I get the wrong kind?
Hey @rmechler welcome to the community ![]()
You want a mono one; any adapter will do, but I would buy the highest quality one you can afford. If you’re still unsure, post information about the adapter you want to buy.

Dan
Thanks, Dan. This one looks decent, despite being relatively cheap and only coming in a 5-pack
Ancable Premium 5-Pack 1/4" Coupler Adapter
Unfortunately it’s supposed to take 2 to 4 weeks. This one I can get today
SHANFEILU 1/4 Inch TRS TS Coupler
which seems cheaper but might do the trick
Stick with the first one. TRS means stereo.

I had a related question here– if the cable from the combo amp’s speaker happens to be long enough, can I skip the adapter entirely and plug directly into the back of the PS-2A? Is there any reason (other than length / not reaching) that one would need to use the additional speaker cable and F adapter? Thanks.
Hi Waking,
Welcome to the forum!
If your cable can reach safely and has the correct 1/4’ plug, then there is no reason for the extension. You are perfectly fine running without it.
Thank You,
Terry
