After viewing the Valvulator Mini launch video, I learned it is supposed to be as close as possible to the guitar pickups in the signal chain. I understand that pedals like wahs, the Digitech drop and some fuzzes should also be early in the signal chain or before buffers. Can you tell me how you would order the signal chain? -Regards

The Mini (or any device) will only draw the current it needs regardless of what the power supply capacity is, so no worries there using the two cable feature.
That said, the Mini only requires 300 mA at power up. After warmup (about 3 seconds), the current draw will drop to around to 250.
Try the single cable and see what happens. With a 250mA supply the Mini will probably take another 2 to 3 seconds to stabilize. This won’t damage the Mini or the PP 2 Plus.

there are at least two reasons to be concerned about effect order.
the first is the composition of the effects. putting a wah before an overdrive vs afterwards makes a different sound. a lot of people think that the wah being early in the signal chain gives the most usable sound, hence the recommendation that it’s early. in a a similar fashion, the drop pedal is doing some advanced-ish signal processing, and you want a “clean” (not overdriven or modulated) signal to act on. from this point of view, there’s no reason the valvulator should go after any of the effects. it’s not providing much coloration or modulation so it shouldn’t affect how the effects composite with one another.
the thing that you maybe DO want to pay attention to is the interaction of the input/output impedances. some older vintage fuzzes, wahs etc have notoriously low input impedances, and might to only sound “right” when driven from a high output impedance source, like a guitar (with passive pickups). but that’s not necessarily true about fuzzes or wahs in general. e.g. a modern cry baby has a 800 k ohm input impedance which is probably very similar to the input impedance of the valvulator, so putting that after the valvulator wouldn’t be bad. If you have vintage or old school pedals, I would recommend looking up the input impedance of them, or better yet, try it out both ways and use your ears.
