Pushback is always welcome! I’m here to learn. My point there was really about whether the increased fidelity to a mid-60s Jensen speaker in a high end IR loader is somewhat defeated by adding additional pieces to the chain, especially when a splitter is involved (luckily OP has a nice Lehle).

As for my speaker level DI idea, it wouldn’t work with high end IR loaders because DIs like the Radial JDX 48 and Neve RNDI only put out mic level signal, and IR loaders tend to take instrument or line level. So you’d have to put a preamp or something after the DI but before the IR loader… it’s getting complicated again. The H&K Red Box does speaker level to mic level, but has its cab sim built in, so it would work… but the cab sim is more of a generic speaker sim rather than specific speakers and cabs being modeled. **I just heard back from Radial. Their JDX 48 direct box DOES have a “cab sim” on its output, though it is a generic 4x12 cab they say. **

Hi, the only thing you would need for a cab sim is something like the Tc-electronic impulse IR Loader. It is like 85€ here in Europe. Then put it after the line out of the PS2.

Yes, that’s correct. But the cab sim part is easy. The problem is that the line level output of the Power Stations is before the FX loop in the circuit, so any effects you have in the loop won’t be in the line level output.

Why don’t you use the FX Send then?

I mean: PS2 → FX Send → Effects → your desired destination.

There’s no need to send the processed signal back into the PS2.

If you don’t return the signal to the FX return then you won’t have sound in your amp
