Tone from PS-2A

Hi!
My PS-2A has like a low volum almost michrophonic tone. If I tap it or lay my hand on it it goes away. I hear this playing at home on a very low volume on my Marshall 1987X. It’s there even when the amp is off. I have the PS-2A on top of the amp and both amp and PS on the same earthed outlet.

Hi @Mats.A

How low is the volume, are you sure the volume is above zero? Sometimes when playing at very low volume the power station is actually off and we are hearing different things like vibration from the transformers and very low volume sound through the speaker. What happens if you turn up the volume of PS-2A?

An audio clip would be useful and a photo of your front and back panel so we can understand settings and connections.

Here is a clip on tone from PS.

Hi @Mats.A

Please also respond to the questions I asked.

In the audio clip I can hear some background noise, maybe the PS-100 fan, someone breathing and the PS-100 bypass/operate switch (?) being switched. Please give me some guidance on what I should be focusing on.

Hi!
Sorry for the long delay in replying. The clip is not that good. It’s hard to record and I had trouble adding it to the mail. It’s more like microphonics it stops when I put my hand on the PS. If I tap it it goes away but come back after a little while. Maybe it’s just that playing at home it’s on very low volume and at a rehearsal or gig you won’t hear it. I think I hear it less now after using the PS for a while. You also hear the hum from the amps transformer.
