SP-2A Noises - Video Linked (Is this normal?)

Hi there, I didn’t get a response to the videos I shared a few weeks ago, so I’m reposting (see link to the videos below). In one video, I just turned the SP-2A on, and you’ll hear a “ping” like sound before I turn it off (this video also shows the ground floor hum of the unit). In the other video, the unit was just turned off, and you’ll hear a couple of “tick-like” sounds. The “ping” or “tick” sounds only appear when the SP-2A is first turned on, or turned off, so perhaps this is normal as the unit warms up or cools down. I just wanted to make sure that these sounds, and the ground floor hum, is normal. Turn the volume up when watching the videos to hear what I am referring to. Thank you for the help!!!

Hi Throwback,

Yes, tubes will absolutely make noises like that through warm-up and cool-down. When it comes to hum and noise, I would definitely read through your manual and check out other posts here on the forum. The search function is a very powerful tool. There are a ton of solutions that can be found.

Hi Throwback!

Sorry, I replied here to your original post, Fryette PS‑2 Power Station - Fan Noise - #7 by dan

Thanks Terry. Dan checked my videos and replied to me. The hum is normal.
