Hi, can I plug my guitar directly into the Line In jack on the PS-2A?
Hello and welcome to the forum! The Line In on both Power Station models is intended for a line level signal such as the output of a preamp or effects processor. Plugging a guitar directly into this input will not work, however you can plug a guitar directly into the FX Return jack and achieve very usable results. See page 5 of the PS-2A user manual for more details. Cheers! Gil
Thanks for the info, Gil.
However, I just checked the manual. There is nothing specific in the “effects return” section that would indicate I could use that as an input.
Just to add bit of clarification, the Line In impedance is too low for most passive pickups, so the level would be low and the top end will sound dull.
The FX Return has a higher impedance and more gain, so that would work better for direct connection from the guitar. On the chance you may want to use the loop for effects, you would need a buffer or some kind of boost to be able to connect a guitar to the Line In.

Thanks Dave.
