Big fan of Fryette gear. Own a Synergy 20ir and a Zmac. Using an Ox right now in the Zmac loop to attenuate. Here’s the question; if I purchase the PL-IR does that allow me to lose the Ox and the Synergy??
Seems like the PL would attenuate like the Ox but also give me IR’s like the Synergy.
Would appreciate any comments.

Hi Peter,
The PL-IR is reactive load with a whole array of line-out connectivity options, including IRs and an analog cab sim. The Synergy 20IR contains a 20W power amp, the PL-IR does not. So it would be more like an OX replacement in your setup.
yeah now i get it. so i really should focus on the Valvulator GP which would act similar to the Synergy.
That’s a 1W tube amp, so it would be much quieter than the 20W Synergy. But at these volume levels you don’t really need an attenuator anyway. So it might be worth investigating a GPDI/IR and seeing if it replaces everything.
Hey Dan, took your advice and picked up the GPDI/IR. Running it in tandem with the Synergy IR and an iso cab mic’d up. Guitar sounds huge. Don’t know where to go from here, have the GPDI, the ZMAC and the Valvulator Mini. What more could I want lol.
