Pittbull Ultra-Lead II at NAMM 2026

I completely agree with the previous comment.
Indeed, Fryette makes fantastic rack-mountable power amps, but the range is missing a suitable preamp (a Deliverance or Ultra Lead sound, or even a mix of the two, would be heaven).

I dont want to steal your time Dave, but i“m near exploding of curiosity about that Steve mentioned in the video, that he wanted a clean representation of the frontend with no switches and buttons. So can you share if the buttons are like on the OG or more like on the GP3 and additional what happend to the high-gain switches. Thanks. Of course i can handle to wait for the feature list. Thanks

Similar to what we did on the GP-3, but more features and flexibility. Clean simple operation and easy to do complex channel voicing, organize into presets, etc.

Not sure if you can or want to answer that question… but will the 2150 reissue be to the original 2150 what the Ultralead 2 is to the original Ultralead?

I’ve come around a lot on this, and am very curious about its capabilities. If it is everything Fryette says it is, it will truly be a gamechanger for tube amps, possibly becoming a template for similar releases by other builders. Fingers crossed!

Can it do WHO Live at Leeds ?

What kind of gain range is available from the Clean channel ?

Yeah, I mean, at risk of sounding negative, the Diezel VHX has been around for 5 or 6 years and is pretty similar in concept. All tube guitar amp with flexible digital enhancements. Even has a DSP Graphic EQ. The biggest difference is probably the form factor. Diezel is amp head format and is heavier. Fryette is lightweight rackmount. Obviously, there’s Diezel vs Fryette sound which is a separate discussion. But, in terms of feature set and capabilities, ā€œgamechangerā€ doesn’t seem totally fair given that there are other products on the market that are pretty similar (and arguably more capable…I mean, as long as you’re adding DSP to a tube amp…). I love Fryette and have been a long-time supporter of the brand. Just being fair to the market.

Great explanations!!! I“m on fire :fire:

IĀ“m currently thinking about some kind of Best-Practices with the tone shaping possibilities after learning that i can shape the IRs too…

On this vid you can zoom in into some hight quality picutres. Sexy!

Is the threeway pre voicing similar to the threeway voice on the Sig X channels ?

Can you use the 1 watt power amp connected to speakers ?

Being able to shape the IRs is a dope idea.

Sorry, I haven’t watched the more recent vids… is the EQ going to be the same GEQ as it’s historically been, or is there a chance that it’s a PEQ? Having a high-pass on the bottom and a low-pass on the top, along with even just 1-3 bands of midrange PEQ would be pretty sweet.

EDIT: OK, I watched the Peach Guitar video. :slightly_smiling_face: My questions remain, and are piqued by that Master EQ portion of the screen that I haven’t heard be explained yet.

Ok that’s awesome, I was kinda hoping it’d be more sig x ( having more modes and dual gain controls on the channels, etc.) but this is amazing I love rack stuff!

Damn, Steve read my mind, I wanted a ā€œmake the player suck lessā€ button and it appears he added it! Lol

I just thought of one thing I wish it had, an fx loop before the preamp so I could slap a boost in there and be able to turn it on/off. But that’s just me…

You’re saying so that you could have one MIDI foot controller, presumably the pre loop would be MIDI controllable, and now you tap one button on the controller and it switches channels and disengages/engages the pre loop? Kind of like incorporating something like the Boss ES-5 into the design of the amp itself?

Yea something like that, would be nice, not a dire need. I think the vhx has one.

I forgot about that! That’s a nice feature. They did cover a lot on that amp.

So i watched the video once again and i hope we can convince the Fryette Team for this channel-switch and Effects-Loop on and of thing. What i dont understand until now is the Standby function and i hope there is some kind of warning when i play around with the buttons if the 1 watt or the full power amp goes through the IR… i have a talent for messing up sth like that :grimacing:

The only thing that confuses me was the answer from Steve about the afraid people who think what will happen if the DSP has a problem. Form my point of view if the DSP is failing you will not have the possibilty any more to disable sth in the DSP. (Maybe a new start with big button pushed.)

But i want to say I DONT have this fear at all.

The more i watch it the more exicted i get.

Another vote for being able to bypass the effects loop (I actually came to look for a manual to check for this very feature).

I’m thinking about using additional preamps through the loop of the Ultra-Lead II and it would be helpful to be able to bypass the loop from the UL without needing to use a separate loop switcher.
