Output Transformer Secondary Wire Impedances

Hi everyone,

I’m replacing the impedance selector switch on my VHT Pitbull 100/CL. The original switch lost the internal rotating contact, so it no longer selects the speaker impedance correctly.

Inside the chassis, I found the output transformer secondary connected to the selector with one common (light blue) wire and three tap wires: green, yellow, and black.

Does anyone know which impedance corresponds to each of the three colored wires (4 Ω, 8 Ω, and 16 Ω)?

If anyone has a transformer color code, or could check their amp, I’d really appreciate it.

The best way to determine this is by measuring the resistance (DCR) of the taps. The 16 ohm will be the largest resistance and the 4 the lowest. Sorry I don’t have that information to hand.
