I just got a (used) LX II to go with my axe fx 3 into my mesa 4x12. It is sounding awesome, but I just noticed the depth light is flashing on it. I immediately put it into standby mode and checked cables and that everything was set right. All good. Google says the light means it is going into protection mode, but I don’t know where they are pulling that info from supposedly.
And again, everything sounds totally fine. But, I am afraid to keep playing until I figure out why that light was going.
Welcome to the forum!
This may occur in an earlier version of the LXII. Could you please provide the serial number?
It’s fine to keep playing the amp though. Google AI is way off the mark here.
The Presence and Depth LEDs are just indicators that these functions are actrive or disabled. If enabled and the Depth LED flutters a bit, that just means the LED indicator is reacting to normal fluctuations in power supply current.
If it bothers you, you can send it here for an update,
Dave
Thanks! I figured google was just giving me nonsense, but of course it puts enough seemingly correct info in there to seem convincing. I was afraid I was gonna damage my beloved Mesa 4x12. So, I just turned it all off until I figured things out.
Serial number is: LXGD240622
I think if both are on, it does appear to just be a little flutter I can see in both. If both are off (which is when I noticed it), it just looks like the depth is slowly dimly blinking.
If there is no actual issue going on, doesn’t seem like worth sending it. I did get it used from Guitar Center. So, I could always just return it. But, I am digging the way it sounds for sure.
