Effects loop question

I have a question on the effects loop of my FRYETTE PS-100. I’ve got my Fender Super Reverb connected to the AMP IN and SPKR OUT jacks. I’ve also run a Morley Power Wah and a MUTRON-PHASER II thru the effects loop. Finally, I have a 2-button footswitch connected for channel switching and effects on/off, and I routed the XLR LINE OUT to my mixer. Nothing is plugged into the 1/4" LINE IN or LINE OUT jacks. Everything works correctly, and sounds fantastic thru the Super Reverb speakers, but the effects loop signal isn’t present in the XLR LINE OUT signal going to the mixer and DAW, just the amp signal. How can I get the effects included in the XLR LINE OUT signal? Thanks for any possible solutions. Brad

Thanks for the reply and the block diagram. I’m not quite seeing how this answers my question about why the combined amp + effects signal is present at the amp speakers but it’s ONLY the amp signal at the XLR line out. I can only speculate that the combined signal MUST be connected to the line in in order to be available at the line outs. The problem with that is my Super Reverb does not have a line out, so I’m still in the same predicament. That is, how do I get the effects loop signal added to the amp signal at the XLR out? My preference is to use both the amp speakers AND the XLR out at the same time. Thanks again.

The line outs are before the FX loop. They only contain the raw amplifier signal, which you can use for recording, etc.

If you could try and investigate signal splitting methods, i.e. split the FX return signal and send one to the PS-100 and one to another destination.

Thanks dan. That helps me better understand stephensawall’s block diagram. Just last night I was considering what you suggested, splitting the FX return and possibly routing the 2nd feed into the Line In jack. Is this a solution, or would this just nullify the FX on/off footswitch and keep the effects loop always on in the mix? Even that might suffice, as I’m really just looking to have the same signal at both the speakers and XLR out. The individual effects could just be engaged when needed?? I suppose that defeats the purpose of the foot switch, but right now all my connections are through a patch bay for ease and convenience, which also allows me to use the same FX loop elsewhere.
